The Boston Lymphatic Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center provides compassionate care and advocacy for individuals with lymphatic disorders while uniting health care providers and researchers from all disciplines to advance our knowledge of lymphatic disease and therapy. Our multi-disciplinary center has evaluated over 3000 new patients with lymphatic disorders since 2016. and offer the entire complement of care to assess and treat adult patients, including specialized clinics in lymphatic medicine, lymphatic surgery, and lymphatic therapy. Our Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology and Nuclear Medicine divisions offer specialized imaging and image-guided interventions for lymphatic disease. In addition, our annual symposium hosts programs for patients and clinicians and draws lymphatic specialists from around the world.
In 2020, the Boston Lymphatic Center was named a Comprehensive Center of Excellence by Lymphedea Education & Research Network (LE&RN), an internationally recognized non-profit organization dedicated to fighting lymphatic diseases and lymphedema, for our outstanding clinical care and research.
Our one-year fellowship covers the full spectrum of lymphatic disease and lymphatic surgery. This includes preventative surgery, such as immediate lymphatic reconstruction, as well as surgery for chronic disease, such as lymph node transfer, lymphovenous bypass, and debulking procedures. Participation in the multi-disciplinary lymphedema clinic and conference is a critical component of the educational process. The fellow will also gain expertise in evaluating patients with near infrared ICG imaging and high frequency ultrasound. Finally, the fellow is encouraged to work with our research team in clinical outcomes research as well as large animal lymphatic surgery.
